My favorite Orville the Poet Poem

"But in District Heights on my block

The youngins say

'Yeah O. Do you."

But that is a concept I'm finding hard to grasp

Because if I am doing me

And I'm still unsuccessful

How long should doing me last?"

~Orville the Poet

One of my favorite poets performs "Timeless"

"Timeless" by Rasheed Copeland

One of my favorite poets spits "My Father had a Belt"

"What would Jesus do if he found God in the back of Heaven getting high. Orion's Belt wrapped around his arm." ~Rasheed Copeland

Metrical Productivity

William Baer writes in Writing Metrical Poetry:

"In order to participate in this great tradition, it's crucial to understand the metrics of our extraordinary language. Even the modern experimenters understood their metrics. Ezra Pound...wrote over a hundred sonnets, and T.S. Eliot was continually obsessed with rhythms, often tapping a little drum to discover new melodic beats."
